　…的话，也就完了
　…的话，也就没有意义了

解説

　前件が実現すれば絶望的な状況に陥ったり、そこで物事が終了したり、それまでの全てが台無しになることを表す仮定表現です。

例文

（１）　とにかく人生は諦めたらそれまでだ。　▶
　　　　　不管怎样，如果放弃了人生就完了。
　　　　　Anyway, if you give up on life, then that’s the end of it.
（２）　いくら猛勉強しても試験当日風邪でも引いたならそれまでだ。　▶
　　　　　不管怎么努力学习，考试当天感冒的话也就完了。
　　　　　No matter how hard you study, if you catch a cold on the day of the exam, then that’s the end of it.
（３）　自分でできないと思ったらそれまでだ。　▶
　　　　　如果以为自己不会做的话那就完了。
　　　　　If you think you can’t do it, then that’s the end of it.
