解説

　前件の動作後すぐに後件の動作が発生することを表します。
　既に発生したことに使います。
　後件で予想外の出来事が述べられる場合、話者の驚きを表すことができます。

（１）　お母さんの顔を見るや否や、安心したのか泣き出してしまった。
　　　　　一看到妈妈，可能是因为安心了吧哭了出来。
　　　　　Upon seeing her mother’s face, she either felt relieved or burst into tears.
（２）　帰宅するや否や、倒れ込んだ。

　　　　　刚一知道我起床了，猫就向我打招呼早安。
　　　　　As soon as they realized I woke up, the cat greeted me with a “Good morning.”
（８）　教室に入るや否や髪切ったの気づいてくれて褒めてくれた。
