２つの意味があります。
①伝聞／推測
他人から聞いた情報や、状況から推測した客観的な情報を述べるときに用います。背景にはある程度信頼できる根拠があるので、可能性は比較的高いです。
②典型的な性質を持っている
名詞に接続して接尾辞的に用い、その物事が持つ典型的な性質を持っていることを表します。
「らしい」はイ形容詞の活用と同じです。
