解説

　それをする以外に解決方法はないこと、たとえそうしたくなくてもそうする以外に方法がないことを表します。
　多くの言い方がある点に注意が必要です。

例文

（１）　自転車が壊れてしまった。歩いて行くより仕方がない。　▶
　　　　　自行车坏了，只能走着去。
　　　　　My bike broke. I have no choice but to walk.
（２）　薬は嫌いだが、飲まなければ死ぬというなら飲むより仕方がない。　▶
　　　　　虽然讨厌吃药，但是不吃会死的话就只能吃了。
　　　　　I dislike medicine, but if not taking it means death, I have no choice but to take it.
（３）　怖いけど渡るより他にない。　▶
　　　　　虽然（因为桥有点高）而感到害怕但也只能硬着头皮过去了。
　　　　　It’s scary, but there’s no other option but to cross.
（４）　あとは被害が最小限であることをただ祈るよりほかにない。　▶
　　　　　只好祈祷以后受害最小。
　　　　　All that’s left is to pray that the damage is minimal.
（５）　もう結果は変えられないし、納得するより仕方がない。　▶
　　　　　结果已经无法改变，只能理解了。
　　　　　The results can’t be changed anymore, so there’s no choice but to accept it.
（６）　死にたくても死ねないのなら、生きるよりほかないだろう。　▶
　　　　　如果你想死也死不了，那只能活下去了。
　　　　　If you want to die but can’t, there’s no choice but to live.
（７）　出産の痛みは男には分からないので、あとは手を握ってあげるよりほかない。　▶
　　　　　因为男生不知道分娩的疼痛，所以只好握着手了。
　　　　　Since men don’t understand the pain of childbirth, there’s no choice but to hold their hand.
（８）　この社会で生きていくためには、毎日同じサイクルを繰り返すよりほかない。　▶
　　　　　为了在这个社会生存下去，只能每天重复同样的循环。
　　　　　To survive in this society, there’s no choice but to repeat the same cycle every day.
（９）　明日は試験。今日は睡眠時間削るよりほかない。　▶
　　　　　明天考试。今天只好削减睡眠时间。
　　　　　Tomorrow is the exam. There’s no choice but to cut down on sleep today.
（10）　現場を見る限り、プロの犯行というよりほかない。　▶
　　　　　从现场来看，只能说是专业的犯罪。
　　　　　Judging from the scene, it’s more like the work of a professional than anything else.
（11）　頼れる人は他にいないし、自分でやってみるよりしかたがない。　▶
　　　　　没有其他可依赖的人，只有自己尝试一下。
　　　　　There’s no one else to rely on, so there’s no choice but to try it yourself.
